In an effort to get to know everyone associated with Dynamite, we will be highlighting a Dynamite employee every now and again. Hopefully putting faces and stories to names will solidify for you that we are real people, not just voices over the phone or text over an email. This month we interview Amanda Cauffman, Accounting Manager.
Dynamite: Amanda, how long have you been working here?
Amanda: 7 years!
D: 7! Wow! As a flashback, in 2005 we watched Tom Cruise jump up and down on Oprah’s couch declaring his love for Katie Holmes. That turned out well. Amanda, what’s your favorite Dynamite product?
A: DM Plus for me - my dogs LOVE the Super Premium Dog Food. Lucy is a miniature long haired dachshund and she’s almost 2. Remi is a black lab and she’s 4. I’m not kidding; they go crazy for the stuff. Lucy will spin in circles starting about 30 minutes before her usual meal time and Remi drools all over the place until I give her the “ok!” to chow down
D: What’s one thing you’ve learned since working at Dynamite?
A: How the right vitamins can make such a big difference in how I feel
D: What’s been going on with life outside of Dynamite?
A: I gave birth to a baby boy in June - Asher Knox Cauffman
D: Oh so that’s why you were gone for 8 weeks? We all thought you were backpacking around Europe. Other than being a mom, what else do you do outside of work?
A: Spend time with my family, play games/sports, watch movies
D: Any favorites?
A: Pretty Woman and Grease
D: What’s your all-time favorite food?
A: Mashed potatoes and gravy! In fact, I wish Thanksgiving consisted only of mashed potatoes and gravy. And rolls... gotta have rolls with butter!
D: Describe yourself in three words
A: Organized, Friendly, Tenacious
D: What’s something you’ve always wanted to try?
A: Skydiving
D: Great! Nothing like jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. Other than your reckless desire for danger, what else is little known about you?
A: Dynamite and I have the same birthday! I was born on the same day that Dynamite opened its doors 30 years ago, October 28th, 1982.
D: Cool! It must have been fate! If you were stuck on a deserted island, what three things would you absolutely need to have?
A: My favorite book (Rage of Angels by Sidney Sheldon), my pajamas, my husband (Drew) and son
D: For an Accounting Manager, you’re not so great with basic addition. That’s four things. Flash forward 20 years, where do you see yourself?
A: Retired!
D: Again with the basic math, you’re only 50 in 20 years…
A: Right. But maybe I’ll win the lottery and travel the world!
D: What do you like most about working at Dynamite?
A: The fun and relaxed atmosphere we have here!
