Dynamite in the Community—Whitney Elementary Community Garden
Back in April 2012 Dynamite donated a year's supply of their Vigor fertilizer to Whitney Elementary's community garden in Boise, ID. Watch that video here. Dynamite decided to do a four month "check up" to see how their garden is growing!

“We would like to thank Dynamite Specialty Products for this donation which will go towards supporting our mission of No More Homeless Pets®,” says Hillary Hutchens, Best Friends’ development manager, corporate partnerships
Best Friends strives to see the day where no animal is killed in shelters due to lack of space or by having special physical or behavioral needs. Their sanctuary, located in Kanab, Utah, is home to approximately 1,700 animals at any given time. They house a myriad of companion animals in need, including dogs, cats, horses, potbellied pigs, goats, rabbits, and parrots. and the occasional turtle, chicken or sheep. Although most animals are rehabilitated and later adopted out, some find their permanent home at the sanctuary, and live the rest of their days enjoying the 3,800 acre property in Angel Canyon.
Community service has always been a value Dynamite upholds. One year ago, Dynamite gifted 2,800 pounds of dog food valued at $4,200 to the Idaho Humane Society as a result of a Facebook contest. In 2011, Dynamite employees and their families logged over 150 volunteer hours at the Idaho Food Bank and included a truckload donation of plums picked at the company’s own test orchard. Two years ago, the company offered its top distributors a choice of a personal prize such as a trip to Maui or double the value as a donation to charity. The result was $22,000 in charitable donations.
“People who buy our products are passionate about their animals and about making the world a better place,” said CEO Callie Novak. “We attract people who are driven by projects that help animals, improve soil, save lives, and make the world a better place.”
Dynamite uses only natural ingredients that are made in the United States for optimal quality control. Throughout its history, Dynamite has always looked at alternatives to animal by‐products, antibiotics, chemical preservatives, fumigants, artificial coloring, and other additives that have later caused health problems.
Dynamite dog food, horse feed, vitamins and nutritional supplements, and other products are available through more than 4,000 individual distributors across the country.
Additional information is available at DynamiteSpecialty.com or by calling 1‐800‐697‐7434. Manufacturing facilities are in Meridian, Idaho and in Des Moines and Westside, Iowa.

Dynamite & Sister Companies Give 1,500 Pounds of Plums to Boise Rescue Mission, Idaho Foodbank
For the second year in a row, employees of Dynamite Specialty Products and its sister companies picked more than 1,500 pounds of plums in the test orchard for the Boise Rescue Mission and The Idaho Foodbank.
Approximately three dozen people volunteered to pick the plums in the companies’ 53-acre test orchard for natural fertilizer and related products near Emmett last week. Plums grown with all-natural fertilizers are selling from $2.50 to $4 a pound through the Idaho’s Bounty food cooperative, giving the donation a value of $3,750 to $6,000.
“We understand that these organizations are in desperate need of fresh food. They told us that the plums would be gone in two days,” said Callie Zamzow Novak, Dynamite CEO. “We have a wonderful orchard where we test our all-natural fertilizers and related products, and we can’t think of a better use for the produce. We were so pleased when they told us that these were the best plums they ever had.”
Volunteers to pick the plums came from Dynamite, Zamzows and TerraLife, all owned by the Zamzow family. The companies have been making all-natural fertilizers, animal feed and related products for four generations.
Perhaps the best known product is Thrive, developed as a tree fertilizer and equally effective for vegetable gardening, flower beds and shrubs. It is sold locally at the 10 Zamzows locations in the Boise area.
The fertilizer is distributed to nurseries nationally through TerraLife under the Dr. JimZ Secret Formula and Zamzow’s labels as well through Dynamite, a multi-level marketing company originally founded to distribute high-end nutritional supplements for horses and other animals.
Other products originally tested in the Emmett orchard include a plant wash that spurs growth by increasing photosynthesis, a product that increases blooms on flower plants, and concentrated compost factor, which contains the recently discovered ingredient that triggers plant growth.
Additional information about the products and their uses as tree fertilizer and in vegetable gardening is available at www.zamzows.com, www.dynamitespecialty.com and www.drjimz.com .

Plum Picking
It's amazing how easily a small act can lead to so much excitement and good.
Dynamite employees, along with employees from our sister company, Zamzows, and friends, had the opportunity to pick more than two tons of plums for the Idaho Food Bank, the Boise Rescue Mission, along with other local charities.
Instead of being overwhelmed by the task at hand (the volunteers could have picked plums all night and still had acres and acres to go), it was amazing how much joy and fun everyone had. There were people running about, boxes overflowing, plum juice on the cheeks of the children who snuck a few bites, laughter, and huge smiles.
Thank you dearly to the volunteers who spent their evening picking nutritious, fresh fruit for those who just need a little help. And a special thank you to the Zamzow family! Without their philosophy "Increasing the quality of life for all living beings," this would never have been possible.
